Perbedaan NTFS dan FAT

            Apa sih perbedaan antara format NTFS dengan FAT? Hal itulah yang mungkin anda pertanyakan saat melakukan format harddisk atu saat install OS Windows. Baik kali ini saya akan jelaskan point-point pentng antar NTFS dan FAT.


1.NFTS

            NTFS di kenalkan pertama pada Windows NT dan merupakan file system yang benar benar berbeda di banding teknologi FAT. NTFS menawarkan security yang jauh lebih baik , kompresi file , cluster dan bahkan support enkripsi data. NTFS merupakan file system standar untuk Windows Xp dan apabila anda melakukan upgrade Windows biasa anda akan di tanyakan apakah ingin mengupgrade ke NTFS atau tetap menggunakan FAT. Namun jika anda sudah melakukan upgrade pada Windows Xp dan tidak melakukan perubahan NTFS itu bukan masalah karena anda bisa mengkonversinya ke NTFS kapanpun. Namun ingat bahwa apabila anda sudah menggunakan NTFS akan muncul masalah jika ingin downgrade ke FAT tanpa kehilangan data.

2.FAT

          FAT16 dikenalkan oleh MS-DOS tahun 1981 (udah lama banget). Awalnya, Sistim ini didesign untuk mengatur file di floopy drive dan mengalami beberapa kali perubahan sehingga digunakan untuk mengatur file di harddisk. Keuntungan FAT16 adalah file system ini kompatibel hampir di semua Operating System baik itu WIndows 95/98/me, OS/2 , Linux dan bahkan Unix. Namun dibalik itu masalah paling besar dari FAT16 adalah mempunyai kapasitas tetap jumlah cluster dalam partisi , jadi semakin besar harddisk maka ukuran cluster akan semakin besar, artinya file sekecil apapun tetap akan memakan 32Kb dari harddisk. Hal jelek 
lain adalah FAT16 tidak mendukung kompresi , enkripsi dan kontrol akses dalam partisi.

Macam - macam tipe RAM

Terdapat beberapa tipe RAM (Random Access Memory), yakni FPM RAM, EDO RAM, SDRAM, DDR dan Rambus RAM. Jika mungkin Anda kurang mengerti tipe RAM, maka mungkin Anda dapat membaca artikel ini.

FPM RAM (Fast Page Mode DRAM)
Fast Page Mode DRAM adalah model DRAM paling lama. Masalah yang sering muncul dari FPM DRAM adalah kecepatan transfernya yang lambat yakni maksimum 50MHz.

EDO RAM 
EDO RAM dapat memberikan performa system 50% lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan DRAM. EDO RAM sama seperti FPM DRAM, dengan beberapa chace yang dibangun ke chip. Seperti FPM DRAM, EDO RAM memiliki kecepatan maksimal 50MHz  EDO RAM uga harus membutuhkan L2 Cache untuk membuat semuanya berjalan dengan cepat, namun jika user tidak memilikinya, maka EDO RAM akan berjalan jauh lebih lambat.

SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM)
Hampir semua system menggunakan tegangan 3.3 volt, 168-pin SDRAM DIMM ini. SDRAM bukanlah sebuah ekstensi dari seri EDO RAM yang lama, namun merupakan tipe baru dari DRAM. SDRAM mulai berjalan dengan kecepatan transfer 66MHz, sementara mode halaman DRAM dan EDO yang lebih lama akan berjalan di maksimal 50MHz. SDRAM sekarang ini dapat berjalan dengan kecepatan 133MHz (PC133), dan bakan hingga 180MHz atau lebih tinggi. Untuk mempercepat kinerja processor, maka RAM generasi baru seperti DDR dan RDRAM biasanya dapat mendukung performa yang lebih baik.

DDR (Double Data Rate SDRAM)
DDR pada dasarnya memiliki kecepatan transfer dua kali lipat daripada SDRAM. DDR akan beroperasi di 333MHz, dengan pengoperasian sebenarnya 166MHz * 2 (aka PC333 / PC2700) atau 133MHz*2 (PC266 / PC2100). DDR RAM juga kompatibel dengan SDRAM secara fisik, namun menggunakan bus parallel yang sama, sehingga membuat implemnetasi lebih mudah dibandingkan RDRAM, yang merupakan teknologi berbeda.

Rambus RAM (RDRAM)
Selain harganya yang cukup mahal, Intel memberikan RDRAM untuk konsumen, dan merupakan pilihan yang tepat untuk memori Intel Pentium 4. RDRAM merupakanteknologi memory serial yang datang dengan tiga pilihan, yakni PC600, PC700, dan PC800. PC800 RDRAM didesain dengan double maximum kecepatan transfer daripada PC100 SDRAM, namun memiliki latensi tinggi. RDRAM memiliki multi channel, seperti pada motherboard Pentium 4, yang dapat menawarkan fungsi memori paling bagus, terutama ketika dipasangkan dengan memory PC1066 RDRAM.

Disable Autorun/Autoplay

Cara Pertama untuk Mendisable Autorun/Autoplay melalui regedit :
1. Buka Registry Editor
Klik menu [start | Run | pada dialog box run ketik regedit]
2. Browse ke alamat registry berikut
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
ExplorerHKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\software\Microsoft\Windows\currentVersion\Policies\Explorer
3. Klik kanan pada String NoDriveTypeAutoRun
4. Isi Value data dengan ff yang berarti fungsi autorun/autoplay akan dimatikan pada 255 drive
5. Klik tombol [Ok]
6. Keluar dari Registry Editor
7. Restart komputer agar perubahan ini berjalan

Cara Kedua untuk Mendisable Autorun/Autoplay melalui Group Policy
[ GPEDIT.MSC ]

1. Klik Menu [Start]
2. Klik [Run]
3. Ketik GPEDIT.MSC pada kolom RUN
4. Setelah muncul layar Group Policy klik folder System pada menu User Configuration dan Computer Configuration
5. Pada kolom Setting, klik 2 kali Turn off Autoplay
6. Setelah muncul layar " Turn off Autoplay " properties, klik tabulasi [Settings] dan pilih opsi Enable pada menu
Turn off Autoplay kemudian pilih All Drive pada kolom Turn Off Autoplay on. Kemudian klik OK
7. Klik Close untuk keluar dari layar Group Policy
8. Restart Computer
